The Problem with American Education

The American education institution is sure getting things backwards. First, a well liked conservative teacher loses his job because he is a conservative. A High School teacher loses his job because his website was accused of being "too patriotic" and because one student was upset that he didn't air President Obama's inaugural address. He did get his job back however. I don't ever remember watching a presidents inaugural address when I was in school. I can bet that they wouldn't have a problem with a left-wing teacher spouting hatred towards the United States teaching at their school.

On the other side of the coin, a 15 year old girl gets suspended for video taping her class to demonstrate the chaotic environment. Apparently she was suppose to get permission first. Why would she need permission to video tape her class? Should the student be punished because she is interested in learning? Maybe she should skip the lousy education in her High School and go straight to college.
